Make plans now for a day of bamboo !!
Spring is finally here and everything is getting green again. The bamboo is waking up there will be a nice fresh canopy of leaves. Of course there is always room in the yard for more bamboo.
March 19th is the date.
People are welcome at my home for a morning bamboo tour and chat before we carpool to Ormond Beach. We will meet at 10am at Steve Stampers home. Steve is the president of the Florida Caribbean chapter of the American Bamboo Society. I will be giving a presentation about North Florida Bamboo collections both public and private. Many of us will be bringing plants for some kind of giveaway to be determined. ABS mender Bill King will be giving a lecture about the American Bamboo Society. We will be getting a collection for some pizza for lunch. The afternoon will consist of a tour of Bountiful Earth, a bamboo retailer and nursery. Chuck has extended a 10 percent discount on one to five plants and 20 percent discount on over 5 plants. He has quite a large variety of cold hardy to sub tropical bamboo. Bountiful Earth is Just off I 95 so the trip home will be real easy for the late leavers.
..... Please invite anyone you know who may want to know more about bamboo.
P. S. If you don't have bamboo for the group bring something else from your yard.
Thank-you
Richard Lindberg
